Childhood Memories

Yesterday I was cleaning the house with my family and I found the photo albums in the cupboard and went through the photos and remembered old-time, old friends, old stuff and most importantly remembered my lost childhood. So, I thought of writing a blog on the lost childhood memories. Those were the days when we had no worries, no study, no pressure, and no tensions about our career, just enjoying everything. The time when someone just holds our fingers and made us walk. When there was always someone to take care of us. When we fell or got injured and cry, then all the members rush towards us and made us feel better. It was the time we spent playing with the toys or playing hide and seek, pakdam pakdai, chor police, pitthu, and aankh micholi, cricket, football, etc. with friends on the streets or in a nearby ground. The most common one was the cricket. I bet everyone has played this sport in their lives. The happiness on one’s face after hitting a good shot was just awesome. I remember how good it felt after the first catch of my life. Getting out on the first ball and saying it was a try ball, and after the quarrel, playing another inning. When we ran off after ringing the doorbell of our neighborhood. How innocent we were who used to say abaa — katta for making friends and breaking friendship.

Those birthday parties in which we used to enjoy a lot and fight for the biggest piece of cake and unwrapping all the gifts. And sometimes had to share all the gifts with a sibling. To insist our parents buy us a toy when going out with them, sometimes we got a slap from our mother, but the next day the same thing was in our hands. The moment we got scolded by our mother for coming home in untidy clothes after playing, the moment we didn’t realize that we actually painted on a sheet of paper or ourselves. The great TV shows like Shaktimaan, Shaka Laka BoomBomm, Hatim, GaliGali SimSim, Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry that we all might watch the whole day and cry when Mom removed the plug of TV. Those shows were just amazing. They made us believe like they all are real and we could do the same. We used to pretend, we can fly like shaktimaan and superman. If we saw a spider, we thought if it bit us, we would also become a Spiderman. I wished that somehow I get that pencil, by which I could do the magic. We used to play with the stick and act like we were warriors. And then comes our favorite superhero movies which we loved and thought we were one of them. I wish that it was good if we never grew up, only wanted to be in that world of superheroes. When our parents used to give us that orange toffee after we got upset or angry. That magical toffee has unforgettable happiness. That cherishing the moment when some guests or relatives come to our home we were just keen to know what they brought for me this time Chocolate or some gift. That sweet and happy childhood with no worries, no peer pressure, fun, and only fun. It seems like we have forgotten the time we spent waiting for every member of our bacha gang so that we could start playing together.

As we grew up we all took different paths, we were so busy with our own stuff that we forget about our childhood memories. But at the time of this pandemic when there is a lot of negativity and an awful environment just grab your childhood stuff and cherish yourself with your happy childhood. Remember those sweet memories and divert your mind from this pandemic situation. Cause a happy human being has a happy mind and happiness and positivity is the key to a healthy life.
